Maharshi Rajdev, MD

Dr. Maharshi Rajdev is a board-certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist and the Medical Director of Akron Vascular Care in Munroe Falls, Ohio. He is Northeast Ohio’s highest-volume physician for musculoskeletal embolization procedures, including genicular artery embolization for knee osteoarthritis and shoulder embolization for chronic shoulder pain. He is also among the most experienced physicians in Ohio offering these advanced, minimally invasive treatments.

Dr. Rajdev specializes in image-guided endovascular and embolization procedures designed to treat pain and inflammation without the need for open surgery. His musculoskeletal embolization practice focuses on helping patients with chronic joint pain, osteoarthritis, tendon-related pain, and inflammatory shoulder conditions who have not achieved lasting relief from medications, physical therapy, injections, or other conservative treatments.

Originally from Westchester County, New York, Dr. Rajdev completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont and graduated as valedictorian from medical school. He then completed a surgical internship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, followed by Diagnostic Radiology residency at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals in Cleveland, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the University of Virginia, gaining advanced training in complex endovascular and embolization procedures.

Before joining Akron Vascular Care, Dr. Rajdev served on the faculty at the Cleveland Clinic. He has extensive experience across the full spectrum of interventional radiology, including peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, dialysis access care, women’s health interventions, uterine fibroid embolization, and advanced embolization therapies.

Through his work in genicular artery embolization, shoulder embolization, and other musculoskeletal embolization treatments, Dr. Rajdev is helping expand access to innovative, non-surgical pain treatment options for patients throughout Northeast Ohio.
