Dialysis Access Management
Dialysis is a process by which waste products, excess water, and more are removed from the bloodstream of patients who suffer from kidney problems or failure. For patients who require it, dialysis treatment can be crucial to their health and well-being.
We offer a dedicated and readily available vascular physician(s) and patient care team actively involved in a patient’s care and treatment. The PVG vascular practice can serve as an “extension” of the nephrology practice for pre-ESRD dialysis patients. The nephrology physician can utilize the PVG team to help with patient education, access evaluation and proactive interventions to prevent and resolve access problems that result in diminished outcomes.
Our PVG physician partners and caregivers play an integral part in educating a new dialysis patient before creating an access for dialysis. We work very closely with our nephrology physician partners and staff to integrate into their patient pre-end stage renal disease program to help in managing a patient’s access. The relationship between PVG and the nephrology practice helps patients proactively manage their access needs.
